A PR entertainment writer for the UK’s most-loved comics has joined the team at Steele PubIic Relations as a content specialist.

Writer and marketer Anthony Glynn, from Salford, has spent nine years behind the scenes writing press releases for sell-out shows by performers such as the incredibly funny and talented Alan Carr, Tom Allen, Katherine Ryan, Rosie Jones, Romesh Ranganathan, Stephen Merchant, Andy Parsons, Judi Love, Tom Davis, Tim Vine – and many more!

He now takes on the role of Editor Associate at the Cheshire-based agency, helping the company expand its portfolio further into the UK as well as international markets.

Steele Public Relations has built a strong reputation across the public sector since it started up in 2021, taking on a variety of public sector and higher education clients.

But the company hasn’t stopped there, developing a recruitment arm of the business – Steele Recruitment – and a growth strategy to move into the private sector.

The next phase for Steele PR will see the team take on commercial clients in need of public sector rigour and methodology applied to their own internal and external communications, especially at early and critical times of development.

Steele PR’s Managing Director, Beverley Walkden, said: “Anthony’s sharp and witty commercial communications skills-set, which have repeatedly proven to achieve box office sell-outs, are just the skills we need going forward as we begin to set our ambitions higher than ever before.

“We are presently talking to global clients who are experiencing exponential growth but who need help communicating with wider stakeholders, which is a key area of strength for anyone who has ever worked in public sector communications.”

Anthony, a former Press Association Journalist, said the move would position him closer to a variety of global brands that the agency is aligning with.

He said: “It is my honour and privilege to take on the mantle of Editor Associate at Steele Public Relations, for the simple reason that Beverley has an incredible proven track record in PR, journalism and television.

“Beverley has huge ambition, for the company, her client base and her team, and looks to the future with fresh eyes – whilst understanding the shift of skills and experience in PR that can make a world of difference when turning dreams into reality for clients.

“It’s the perfect mix and makes me proud and confident to be involved with Beverley and the team!”

Beverley, who is a judge for this year’s Chartered Institute of Public Relations PRide Awards, said she was looking forward to creating some great campaigns with her new team member. She said: “Anthony will inject his own signature humour and wit into content for our commercial clients. I just know the results are going to be fantastic and we’ll enjoy working together.”
